GORDON MURRAY’S NEW F1-INSPIRED T.50 SUPERCAR WILL BE EVERYTHING THE BUGATTI CHIRON ISN'T - deals in retail

Despite its central driving position and naturally aspirated V12, Gordon Murray’s upcoming supercar, the T.50, is not meant to be a McLaren F1 reprise.

Rather, in attempting to create his ultimate vision of the supercar, Murray has drawn on everything he has learned in his long and varied career— which means, yes, plenty of references to the first road-going McLaren, but also bits and pieces pulled from his work in Formula 1 and his ongoing focus on composite construction. It’s meant to be one for the ages; Murray previously said that he conceives of it as the “last, and the greatest, ‘analog’ supercar ever built.” No shortage of ambition there.

And from the way it has been conceived and engineered to its stated performance specs (or notable lack thereof), it also seems like a deliberate response to the tech-forward, metrics-obsessed machines currently at the top of the supercar and hypercar heap. This is looking like it could be the supercar antithesis of the maximalist Bugatti Chiron. We’re excited. (READ MORE)
